We had the Fried Kuey fow and some Vegetable fritters. The kuey fow is flavorful and the service is really fast.
A cheap eat place... Cash only, no debit or credit card accepted.. all dishes are less than $10... Very tasty but really greasy and oily... Offers take out as well.. overall good experience..
Tasty, and cheap, with a large selection of great dishes! Char kway teow was the winner. Although popular I found the Laksa mediocre, very fish-coconut forward with too-soft noodles. Wish it had some lime, and more depth. Prata was crispy and the accompanying curry was very good. Everything was a bit too oily but the wok hei was amazing. I'd love to try more stir fried dishes from them. Also appreciate the self serve tea.
One of the best heinese chicken spots in the city. Absolutely the best char kway teow 100%.
Hole in the wall with decent sized menu - authentic bold flavours, cheap prices, sizeable portions. Laksa was just a flavour bomb. Takeout was efficient and well packed. Cash only.
At first glance, one would not have much expectation, because it is basically a hole-in-the-wall. The price is attractive enough though, and that is likely how this place has managed to survive for so long. While I do not find the dishes to be perfectly authentic, it is about 70 to 80% close to the ones I find in Singapore, and the ambience does remind me a little bit of hawker markets there. There is also a bus station very close by, and the skytrain station is only a couple of blocks away, so one does not need to worry about parking on the busy King Edward Avenue. That said, some dishes are so-so at best, so I would not go out of my way to come here to eat. It is definitely not a bad place to get a taste of Singapore on a budget though.
Excellence. Malaysian and Singaporean food done right. Great price. Laksa, Mee Rebus, Vege Fritters, and everything else are wonderful. Still open for takeout!
Tasty, delicious meals at reasonable prices! There aren't a lot of tables but they have 2 different counter seating spots. Also, prepare to pay $0.25 for every container you need for your leftovers. You won't go wrong with anything on the menu plus get the vegetable fritters!
Very disappointed with this place and the staff. The lady up front was just cold and doesn't seem to give a care in the world. We hoped the food would make up for it but the laksa did not taste the way it was supposed to and didn't taste fresh. If anyone were to go there, the fried rice and the noodle soup tasted better, although our kids didn't have the appetite to eat it, the adults finished it. Our first and last visit here :(
Really casual home made food. Their laksa and veggie fritters were delicious!
Authentic and delicious small self service Singaporean restaurant. Good value for money and portion is enough to make you full but not too much. Quality of food is great, ingredients are fresh.
I've been coming here for over 10 years. Nothing but good things to say about the food. Absolutely delicious, inexpensive and quick. Mee goreng, fritters and roti are some of my favourites. Definitely worth the trip.
Excellent Asian food! Must get the vegetable fritter and the curry chicken. Huge portions, bursts of flavours, affordable prices, and efficient staff. Note: cash only.
Talk about killer food! Their laksa is to die for! And the hainan chicken was gone within seconds. Highly recommend trying out atleast one of their dishes.
I always come to this place for cheap (and delicious) Malaysian food! Flavors are excellent (we had the Hainanese chicken rice and laksa). The rice was lightly flavored and the chicken tender. The soup base is mildly spicy with a stronger coconut curry taste. A good amount of meat that comes with each dish too. Though it's been a couple years since my last visit and the prices have gone up a bit, Hawkers never disappoints!
Really yummy Malaysia food. I had the Char kway teow, Laksa, and veggie fritters. Everything was perfect and the portions large.
Best Singaporean and Malaysian food around Vancouver.
Very authentic and great price. Highly recommend their Kway teow.
This place is one of my favourite restaurants in town!!!! And I always order Hainan chicken rice!!! $9.5 after tax. It's been two years since I moved city. But guess what, they are still very flavourful and yummy!!!!! The chicken tight is juicy and tender, not a overly cooked. I am going there again to try their laksa! They are closing 12th Aug 18 - 9th September 18. If you want to try their Malaysian/ Singaporean food. Go before they have holiday!!!
Great food ant affordable price and the lady taking up the order is no nice. The place is pretty loud though with the wok so i do not recommend if you are looking for a quiet evening
Great authentic, cheap and quick Singaporean food. The flavors were amazing. Great place to dine in or get a quick meal on the go. The place is on the small side and can get very cramped but it gives this place that old school Asian restaurant vibes where the main experience is the food. Trust me when I say that the preparation and execution they deliver on each plate of food is amazing. I would definitely recommend this place to all my friends and family.
My go to hole in the wall for Malaysia food. Recommend the Char kway teow and Laksa.
Delicious laksa! So glad I've finally come here. Will definitely go back for other dishes
Reliably amazing, and super tasty. The Laksa and Kuey Teow are my faves. A neighborhood staple.
